OLD SHOES CAN BE RECYCLED
A gentlemen (named George) is known to many locally because of his program of collecting old shoes. Gather the shoes you no longer wear and pair them by tying laces together or putting a rubber band around them. Any style of shoe is needed – from high heels to tennis shoes to flip flops. Bring them to our collection boxes at
Alliance Bank (Cape Girardeau branch) at 217 North Kingshighway
until November 19
Shoeman Water Projects collects thousands of donated used and new shoes. The shoes will get a second life in Kenya, Haiti and Chile, and their sale will fund drills or water filtration systems that can access fresh, clean water in third world countries.
Pastor George “The Shoeman” Hutchings is with Shoeman Water Projects, a non-profit organization, whose volunteers raise money for wells and water purification systems.
Shoeman Water Projects is a work of Eagle Wing Ministries, a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit charity, working to alleviate as much human suffering as possible and, in the process, enjoy the ride! For additional information go to www.shoemanwater.org.
