Recently I read an article published by the American Bankers Association on cybercrime; it surely has heightened my senses to this topic. Cyber-terrorism -- cyberattacks – cyber warfare…. These words have become commonplace and the news media can deliver a story about a recent event without any difficulty. It amazes me how cybercrime has advanced to such powerful levels.  I remember being concerned about how easy spyware could enter my laptop, steal or destroy my documents, and make me so frustrated trying to return my ... At the 2015 Cape Chamber Annual Dinner, Paula Myers, was awarded the Ambassador of the Year award for the fifth year. Needless to say, Alliance Bank is proud of their Vice President, Consumer Lender, for this marked achievement. Myers won the award in 2006, 2009, 2010, and 2012. You may have heard it referred to as the “Go-Getter Award,” which was its past title. As Kim Voelker, the Chamber’s Membership Development Specialist, stated, the award is “a very “Photo courtesy of Southeast Missourian” comp... Read More

It is obvious children learn from listening to others, and especially their parents. Here is one example of how a young boy (named Blaine) learned early the personal gratification of “giving.” Toward the end of the school year, Zach with the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri, visited Blaine Schlosser's* school – St. Augustine in Kelso, Missouri. The students learned about the need for volunteers to walk the pets and socialize with them. That is just a sampling of the “volunteer” efforts that help the local sh... Read More

As you can see from the “ground breaking” photo, construction of our new facility in Oran has begun. Moving dirt and staking the land began last week. Our contractor, Columbia Construction, Corp. expects the project to be completed by mid-December this year. As we watch the weather forecast every day, that timeline is contingent on having some days of SUNSHINE. Our Alliance Bank staff along with Oran City personnel shared in our excitement on Thursday, June 5th as the shovels turned. Watch for updates as the progress continue... Read More

Alliance Bank has been in Oran since March of 2004, and 10 years later they’ve outgrown that initial space! Jim Gosche is the Senior Vice President on the Lending Team and he’s been with Alliance Bank since January of 2004, the very beginning of Alliance Bank’s time in Oran. He was kind enough to provide an overview of the new facility. Why a new building, Jim? A permanent building will ensure stability to our customers and community, and give them the confidence that Alliance Bank will be their banking center now and in... Read More

On March 12, the management and staff at Alliance Bank’s Cape Girardeau Branch held a “retirement party” for Jeannie Boxdorfer (our part-time Receptionist). Whether you telephoned into the bank or dropped by in person, Jeannie’s friendly voice and desire to please often welcomed you. As our Receptionist, Jeannie did much more than answer the telephone. For us, the Receptionist is a “key position” requiring knowledge, tact, and quick thinking. Multi-tasking and keeping focused on other duties while the pho... Read More

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in someone’s life and didn’t know how to do it? For most of us that answer is YES. On March 5th, a simple volunteer opportunity afforded Kevin Greaser, Cape Girardeau’s Community Bank President of Alliance Bank, that break. Alma Schrader School is the “Adopted School partner” for Alliance Bank. (A program through the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce.) They were seeking volunteers to test – tutor – design questions – and simply help at their Knowl... Read More
